On 15 July 2026, the International Criminal Court Bar Association (ICCBA) proudly celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a special conference entitled "International Criminal Law in All Its States", held at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
The conference marked an important milestone in the Association's history, celebrating a decade of representing and supporting independent counsel and support staff practising before the International Criminal Court. Over the past ten years, the ICCBA has continued to strengthen the independent legal profession before the Court through advocacy, professional development, and engagement with the Court, States Parties, and the wider international justice community.
The anniversary event brought together an audience of judges, diplomats, counsel, academics, representatives of international organisations, civil society, and members of the international criminal justice community for an afternoon of thoughtful discussion on the current challenges and future direction of international criminal law.
The conference provided an opportunity to reflect on the evolution of international criminal justice over the past decade while examining the legal, institutional, and practical challenges that lie ahead. The diverse perspectives shared by the distinguished panel of speakers generated an engaging exchange of ideas and reinforced the importance of continued dialogue between all those committed to the fair, independent, and effective administration of international justice.
The ICCBA extends its sincere gratitude to all of the speakers, participants, and guests who joined the event, both in person and online, and contributed to making the conference a memorable success. The Association also thanks everyone who has supported the ICCBA throughout its first ten years and looks forward to continuing its work in strengthening the independent legal profession before the International Criminal Court and promoting the development of international criminal law in the years to come.
