On 5 July 2023, the ICCBA President, Ms, Marie-Hélène Proulx, gave a presentation to the law faculty of the University of Valparaiso in Chile. This event was organised by the ICCBA's Focal Point for Latin American and Caribbean States, Mr. Juan Carlos Manriquez.
Participants included: Prof. Inés Robles, Faculty UV Dean, Prof. Claudio Oliva, Law School Director, Prof. Silvana Adaros, PhD Procedural Law and Valparaiso Bar Association Chair and Senator Mr Francisco Chahuan, Current President of Foreign Affairs and International Relations and Human Rights Committees, Chilean Senate.
The President gave an overview of the ICCBA and the ICC, providing valuable insights the work of the Association and the Court. The participants posed insightful questions on various aspects of the ICCBA's and ICC's work. The participants' questions covered topics ranging from the ICC's jurisdiction and procedures to the challenges faced by the Court in achieving its objectives.
The event served as a platform for fostering interest and understanding among future legal professionals from Latin America and it is hoped that similar events will be organised in the future.
